Part of the Process: Road to the Reversible Jersey
As a company, we’re never comfortable with following the status quo. Sure, we could just stick with making awesome jerseys without experimenting, but that’s not us. We love to push the boundaries; to raise the bar.
And so, we want to create gear that hasn’t been seen before. We’ve always wanted to create a super high-quality, fully reversible single layer custom jersey (we know, lots of adjectives here), but it was harder than we thought. It turns out, there is a lot to figure out when wanting to create a single layer reversible jersey. For example, how do we neatly finish seams and hems so they look good on both sides?

Clearly, we needed to tackle this project one step at the time. The first step? Single layer reversible custom tanks. The good thing about tanks is that their construction is simpler than a jersey. For example, the issues of the sleeve hems is much simpler - they already come with binding on the arms so all we needed to do was add a binding to the bottom. They turned out great!

Once we established how we were going to construct our reversible tanks, art was next on our to-do list. Due to the nature of a two-sided single layer of fabric , we needed the art to be a bright and a dark, or two darks, for the tanks to be successful. Unfortunately, some of the art bleeds through so true whites aren’t available—yet!
Our expert designers set up every order with extreme attention to detail to ensure the bleed through colours are complementary to the design to minimize any negative effects it may have. Don’t worry, we double-check every single jersey before it gets printed: we test each art concept by creating mini jerseys to see how the bleed affects the fabric in the real world. This step is repeated as many times as required to get it up to our standards.
